Mylands, Britain’s oldest family-owned and run paint and wood polishes manufacturer, is launching 31 striking new colours inspired by the world’s greatest city at Decorex 2015.
Named after some of London’s most iconic buildings, districts and characters, the new colour palette pays homage to the capital’s unique stories of heritage and design, both historic and contemporary.
From the soft white tones of Maugham White No.2, created for a restoration project and named in honour of Syrie Maugham a leading interior decorator of the 1920’s and 1930’s who popularised all-white rooms, to the sumptuous deep purple tones of Duke’s House No.44 inspired by Sir William Davenant, poet and dramatist who established a theatre in Lincoln’s Inn Fields in 1661.
The new colour card offers a charming mix of elegant off-white and neutral shades, subtle pastels, bolder accents and sultry rich darks, Mylands’ paints are offered in a comprehensive selection of interior and exterior eco-friendly paint finishes for walls, wood, metal and masonry.
Dominic Myland, Managing Director, said “We’re delighted to be exhibiting at Decorex once again this year, showcasing 31 exquisite new paint colours. As one of the industry’s premier events, it makes a fitting platform to unveil these exciting additions to our colour palette; the first since 2012. It’s even more apt that it’s staged on our doorstep in London where all our paints are made and inspired and where Mylands has resided for over 130 years. We look forward to another successful show.”
Renowned for their thick, rich coverage and exceptional highly pigmented depth of colour, Mylands’ paints are beautiful to look at yet strong, durable and easy to use. Expertly blended by four generations of the same family in Lambeth, South London, Mylands uses only superior quality ingredients and natural earth pigments to produce their exquisite range of 120 timeless colours in a selection of environmentally friendly interior and exterior paints. Possessing Mylands’ signature lustrous thick texture, superior coverage, outstanding durability and sumptuous rich colour, Mylands’ paints are hardwearing and washable whilst retaining an immersive finish whether matt, mid-sheen or high shine.
Historically trade only, Mylands has been the paint of choice for over 130 years in the film, theatre and television industry with guest appearances in some of the world’s most successful productions including James Bond, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, Cinderella, Mr. Selfridge and Star Wars.
